Coco Martin considers running for Senator in 2022

Komunsulta umano si Coco Martin kay Senador Lito Lapid sa posibleng pagpasok niya sa politika sa 2022, ayon kay Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) chairman Lito Banayo. 
Hindi lang daw ang “Ang Probinsyano” ang agenda ni Martin nang bisitahin niya si Lapid sa Senado noong nakaraang linggo.
Batay sa kolum ni Banayo sa Manila Standard noong June 15, sinabi niyang kinokonsidera ni Coco ang maging politiko bilang alternatibong career niya dahil sa hindi kasiguruhang kapalaran ng ABS-CBN.
“[A] little birdie close to the superhero of telenovelas and nemesis of Solgen Joe Calida told me that Martin (Nacianceno in real life), had already discussed his non-cinematic future, that is, politics, with his ‘pinuno’ at the time his socmed defense of his ‘kapamilya’ network was raging,” ani Banayo.
Target umano ni Martin ang pagka-mayor pero pinayuhan siya ni Lapid na tumakbo na lang na senador.
“Mas madali ang trabaho ng senador,” sabi raw ni Lapid kay Martin. Nagkasama sina Martin at Lapid sa “Ang Probinsyano” bago tumakbong senador ang huli noong 2019. Sa ulat ng ABS-CBN, sinabi ng chief of staff ni Lapid na humingi ng tulong si Martin sa senador para sa bagong “twists” ng “Ang Probinsyano”. (IS)
